Listicle (listicle.xyz) is made by Automatique, Inc. (“we”). This page explains what we collect when you use the site, the cookies involved, how our affiliate links work, and the choices you have. Questions or requests: support@listicle.xyz.
What we collect when you browse
You don’t need an account to read Listicle, and we don’t ask for your name or email.
- Usage analytics. We use PostHog to count page views and clicks on buy links (which guide, which product, the store and price shown). Your browser gets a random id, kept in a first-party cookie and local storage, so a returning visitor counts once. We don’t store IP addresses, record sessions or fingerprint devices.
- Server logs. Our host (Heroku) keeps standard request logs, including the page requested and your IP address, for a limited time, to run and secure the site.
- Click counts. We count clicks on each buy link to see which picks are useful.
We don’t sell personal information, show ads, or share data with advertisers.
Affiliate links
Some links to products are affiliate links. If you buy something after clicking one, the store may pay us a commission. It doesn’t change your price, and it doesn’t decide the ranking. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Buy links go through listicle.xyz/go, which counts the click and sends you to the store. Amazon and other stores and affiliate networks may then collect information directly from you, serve content and ads, and place or read cookies in your browser to credit the sale. They handle that under their own privacy policies, for example Amazon’s privacy notice. We don’t send them anything about you.
Accounts
Signing in is only for our editors and invited partners. If you sign in with Google, we store your name, email address and profile photo from Google, and a session cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 14 days. Your email is never shown to anyone. You can delete your account in Settings, which removes it and everything it made straight away.
Your choices
- Clear this site’s cookies and data to reset the analytics id, or use a blocker that blocks analytics.
- To limit interest-based ads from stores and networks, use Amazon’s advertising preferences, the DAA opt-out or the NAI opt-out.
- Email support@listicle.xyz to ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted. Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have further rights; we’ll honor them.
Children
Listicle isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we’ll update this page and the date above. How our guides are made is on each guide and on our editor’s page.
